Spencer and I are just back from the olive harvest in Fiesole (as of December 5th, 2008), where the news is generally good. The oil pressed this November seems to be of very good quality. (We won’t know exactly how it measures up statistically until the samples come back from the lab.) The yield, however, was quite low, because there was no rain from July through September and the oil content of the fruit was minimal. We expect to have enough oil to go around, though, and we’ll let everyone know when it arrives here in the States sometime next May. In the meantime, we still have a very limited amount of oil available. There are just a few cases left, so get your orders in soon. We’ll be taking holiday orders until about December 17th, or until supply runs out. I look forward to hearing from you. Your enthusiastic comments about La Bonta di Fiesole have been most welcome. Your enthusiasm is a large part of why Spencer and I bring the oil in.
